Dr. Marcus J. Smith, Sr. is the faithful pastor of Warren Chapel Church of God in Christ and Ebenezer Church of God in Christ in Louisville, MS. A lifelong servant of God, his spiritual foundation was established before he was born, as his mother dedicated him to the Lord and nurtured within him a love for God, His people, and His Church.

As the eldest son of Pastor Anthony Smith and District Missionary Irma Smith,Dr.Smith answered the call to ministry early in life and has faithfully preached the Gospel for more than 35 years.In 1999, he was appointed pastor of Warren Chapel Church of God in Christ.Under his leadership, the congregation has experienced significant spiritual and numerical growth, expanding from fewer than 20 members to well over 100. During his pastorate, a new sanctuary was constructed, and the ministry continues to flourish by the grace of God.

In 2004, he was appointed Superintendent of the Louisville District by Jurisdictional Prelate Bishop Albert Vernon Jordon. In February 0f 2017, Bishop Jordan also appointed him pastor of the Ebenezer Church of God in Christ, where he was led both spiritual and physical renewal within the congregation.

 

Known for his dynamic preaching, compassionate leadership, and wavering commitment to the Word of God, Dr.Smith  has ministered throughout the  United States. His passion is to proclaim the Gospel under  the leading of  the Holy Spirit, reaching people of every race ,culture, gender, and background.Through his ministry, countless lives have been encouraged, restored, and transformed.

Dr.Smith has faithfully served the Church of God in Christ in numerous leadership capacities.He is a member of the National Adjutancy and has served as a National Adjutant Servant Leader of the Adjutant General Advisory Board, Episcopal Adjutant, and Jurisdictional State Expediter.In July 2024, Bishop William Dean, Jr. appointed him Superintendent of District 12 of the Northern Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.

His previous leadership roles include instructor at the C. H. Mason Bible School, Chief Adjutant, Administrative Assistant, and Personal Secretary to the late Bishop Albert Vernon Jordon.Dr.Smith also earned the Doctor of Divinity degree from Unity Bible College in Covington, Louisiana.

A native of Columbia, MS. Dr.Smith graduated from East Marion High School and attended Jackson State University, majoring in vocal music.

​

 For more than 30 years, Dr.Smith has been  blessed to share life and ministry with his wife, Missionary Lisa Smith. Together they are proud parents of five children  Bridgette, Ayrion, Marc (Jazmine), Marcus, Jr., and Mary Elizabeth and the  grateful grandparents of  nine grandchildren.

Dr.Smith's life and ministry are centered on one mission: to glorify God by preaching the Gospel, shepherding His people, equipping believers for service, and advancing the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.His desire is that every person who encounters this ministry experience the love ,grace, and transforming power of God.
